Ethics Training (updated)

Utah state law requires training every year for all public officials on the Open Meetings Act. Several of Virgin Town Council members and Planning and Zoning Commission members held a meeting on January 12^th to watch a training video. Springdale had scheduled an ethics training which included training on the Open Meetings Act for January 21^st. This training was to involve speakers as opposed to just watching a video. Live training is better than watching a video as it provides an opportunity to ask questions or to learn from other attendee’s questions. Mayor Krause (Gigi) and I were planning on attending this training even though we already received training on the Open Meeting Act during the Officials Essential Training.  Unfortunately, the training in Springdale has been temporarily cancelled due to COVID. All government offices have been closed for two weeks. Gigi and I are still planning on attending this training whenever Springdale reschedules the training.
