Officials Essential Training

The Utah League of Cities and Towns held municipal officials’ essential training workshops (formally the newly elected officials training) on two different days. These workshops are geared towards both newly elected officials and experienced officials who are interested in a “refresher” course. The training included forms of government; powers & duties; ethics; open and public meetings; land use resources; municipal budgeting; legislative issues; infrastructure maintenance; risk management; roles between elected officials and staff; and protecting essential community water resources. Mayor Krause and I were the only officials from Virgin to attend. Mayor Kruase attended the workshop on January 8, 2022 in North Salt Lake City.  I attended the workshop on December 11, 2021 in St. George.
